Independent Community Service Programme: Community Sustainability Performance Briefing at Rest Area KM 72A
A Collaboration between the Doctoral Programme in Industrial Engineering, Universitas Trisakti, and Alumni for Community Empowerment
Purwakarta, Thursday, 12 June 2025 The Doctoral Programme in Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Trisakti, has conducted an Independent Community Service Programme entitled “Community Sustainability Performance Briefing at Rest Area KM 72A”. This initiative represents a tangible contribution by academia to support community development, particularly among MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) operating in the rest area.
This programme is the result of collaboration with the management of Rest Area KM 72A, led by Jimmy Leo Tjandra, an alumnus of Industrial Engineering at Universitas Trisakti and currently serving as Director of the rest area. His commitment to improving the welfare of the local community is embodied through this educational and empowerment initiative, in partnership with academic institutions to provide practical knowledge and skill development.
The event featured four speakers from the academic staff of Industrial Engineering at Universitas Trisakti:
Ir. Emelia Sari, S.T., M.T., Ph.D
Anik Nur Habyba, S.T.P., M.Si
Dr Ir. Iveline Anne Marie, M.T
Achmad Mico Wahono, S.T., M.T
During the briefing sessions, the speakers delivered materials on topics such as business sustainability, performance improvement, process efficiency, the importance of regular facility maintenance, and fostering collaboration to build resilient and independent MSMEs. The participants — including MSME partners, rest area management, and members of the local youth organisation (Karang Taruna) — responded with great enthusiasm throughout the event.
This initiative aims to foster ongoing synergy between higher education institutions and the business sector, delivering concrete benefits to the local community and serving as an inspiring model for other rest areas across Indonesia.
